ABOUT US

The Shawnigan Lake Community Association has been serving the community since the early 1940's! It is the soul of the community. The purpose of the SLCA is to provide an organization of volunteers to share the commitment of bettering the community and to further the development of community interests for the welfare of all.

The Board of Directors is a small but energetic group of volunteers holding the heart of the community in their own hearts.

Annually we hold four events:Easter Event on Easter Sunday, Canada Day Celebrations on July 1st, Halloween Hoedown on the last Saturday in October, and Christmas in the Village on the first Sunday in December.

With great respect we acknowledge that the land and waterways that we live, work and play on is the unceded territory of the Coast Salish people; in particular the Malahat Nation and the Cowichan Tribe, who have lived on and cared for this land for millennia.

We would like to acknowledge that this beautiful land that we call home has a deep history; that we are working, living, and playing on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish people, in particular the Cowichan Tribe and the Malahat Nation.
